Turbinate Coblation is a quick, painless office-based procedure that can provide longstanding relief from nasal congestion and nasal blockage. The procedure can offer immediate and dramatic results to help with nasal airway obstruction and snoring.
The turbinates are found inside the nose. Swollen turbinates can cause pressure, congestion and difficulty breathing.
Coblation turbinate reduction shrinks the turbinates so they don’t swell in response to allergy, sinus infections, or increased blood flow from body positioning.
The Procedure
The procedure starts by numbing the nose with a spray first, and then medicine on a cotton strip placed inside the nose. After the nose is numb, a coblation wand is painlessly inserted into the turbinate. The wand emits radio frequency energy which shrinks the turbinates. This relieves nasal obstruction and improves nasal breathing.
After determining if you are a candidate for turbinate reduction, the procedure can be performed in less than 30 minutes, and you can return to normal activities immediately.
